Based on data issued by the French state electricity company (EDF), precautionary environmental measures were taken for nuclear reactors in France, after a red alert was declared in 37 French departments due to high temperatures.

As part of these environmental measures that limit the discharge of excess hot water issued by the reactors into rivers whose temperatures had already risen due to the heat wave, the operation of 3 reactors located on the banks of the rivers was stopped for a temporary period.

Also, 8 other reactors were placed in low-power operation mode for similar environmental reasons.

Russian President Vladimir Putin participated in a program and exhibition organized by the Russian Popular Front movement in the capital, Moscow, according to a statement issued by the Kremlin.

Putin said during the event that the West continues to “fight Russia,” but Moscow, in return, continues to develop its economy and modernize its army.

The Russian President touched on the Ukrainian army’s attacks on oil refineries and warehouses inside Russian territory, saying: “The Russian energy sector has a solid and very strong foundation. They (the Ukrainians) are creating some Problems related to oil products, but I believe that the situation will improve with time.”
