Turkish Minister of Justice: No one can point a finger at our courts
Turkish Minister of Justice Akin Gurlik responded to the statements of Turkey's rapporteur in the European Parliament regarding the Turkish judiciary, stressing that no one can influence ongoing issues, pressure the Turkish judiciary, or interfere in the country's internal affairs.
Turkish Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek said, “No one can point a finger at the Turkish courts, or try to influence ongoing issues, put pressure on the Turkish judiciary, or interfere in the country’s internal affairs.”
Gurlek’s statements, via his social media account, came in response to statements by Turkey’s rapporteur in the European Parliament, Nacho Sanchez Amor, about the judiciary. The Minister stressed that Turkey is an independent, sovereign and democratic state of law, and that judicial authority is exercised in the name of the Turkish people through independent and impartial courts.
