Al-Sisi sets the condition for permanent peace: an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed that permanent peace and normalization between peoples cannot be achieved except by ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, noting that Egypt was the first Arab country to sign peace with Israel in 1979.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said, during the opening ceremony of the state’s strategic leadership in the new administrative capital, east of Cairo, that Egypt was the first Arab country to sign a peace agreement with Israel in 1979.
Al-Sisi stressed that the permanent solution to conflicts in the Middle East comes through a comprehensive and just peace that ends the Palestinian issue, stressing the necessity of establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
Sisi said: “Permanent peace, true stability, and normalization between peoples cannot be achieved except with peace that ends the occupation, achieves justice, and restores rights to their owners.”
