Türkiye and Canada officially launch free trade agreement negotiations
Negotiations for a comprehensive free trade agreement between Türkiye and Canada were officially launched following Erdogan's meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Carney in Ankara, to deepen the economic partnership between the two countries.
The Turkish Ministry of Commerce announced the official launch of negotiations for a comprehensive free trade agreement between Turkey and Canada, following a meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara.
The announcement came after a joint ministerial statement last month between Trade Minister Omar Polat and his Canadian counterpart Maninder Sidhu about the start of negotiations, as the two leaders affirmed today their commitment to deepening the economic partnership between the two countries.
