Turkish Finance Minister: The share of deposits in lira reaches 62%, the highest level in 11 years

Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek said, through his account on the X platform, that Turkey has achieved tangible progress in the path of reducing dollarization (consolidating confidence in the Turkish lira), thanks to increased predictability and enhanced investor confidence.
Simsek explained that despite multiple shocks, the share of deposits in the Turkish lira out of total deposits rose to about 62%, which is the highest level recorded in the past 11 years.
The Turkish Minister confirmed that the government will continue its policies aimed at strengthening confidence in the Turkish lira, supporting overall financial stability, and achieving price stability, which is a basic condition for sustainable and high economic growth.
