The official Israeli television (Kan), quoting an Israeli security official whose name was not revealed, stated that the instructions issued by the Tel Aviv government to the army based on American requests will remain in effect until the course of the tension between Washington and Tehran and the ongoing negotiations with Lebanon become clear.

The report explained that the Tel Aviv government was looking at any possible Iranian response targeting Israel as an opportunity to strike strategic targets inside Iran, but it issued orders to the army to wait at the request of the White House, to avoid the spread of tension.

The Kan channel reported that the Israeli army is expected to begin withdrawing from experimental areas in southern Lebanon as of next week.

In conjunction with the withdrawal process, a new negotiating round will be held between Lebanon and Israel in the Italian capital, Rome, where the Israeli delegation will be led by the American Ambassador, Yechiel Leiter, with the participation of the same technical team that attended the previous negotiating rounds.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar had announced that the next negotiating round with Lebanon will be held in Rome next week, as confirmed by Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister AntonioTajani agreed to host the talks on July 15 and 16, noting that the final date depends on the determination of the American, Lebanese and Israeli parties, adding: “We presented our readiness to host the meeting.”
