The Ankara Public Prosecution issued arrest warrants for 36 suspects, including the mayor of Çankaya, Hüseyin Can Güner, as part of a corruption investigation coordinated with the Ankara Security Directorate.
The Ankara Security Directorate’s anti-financial crime teams, in coordination with the Public Prosecution, initiated action targeting the crimes of “establishing a criminal organization,” “belonging to a criminal organization,” “taking and giving a bribe,” and “manipulation.”
Arrest orders were issued against 36 suspects in total, in addition to judicial orders to search the suspects’ addresses and confiscate any criminal evidence.
In simultaneous operations carried out in the morning hours, 27 out of 36 suspects were arrested and transferred to the Ankara Security Directorate, while efforts continued to locate the remaining wanted persons.
