Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavas at the presidential complex in Bestepe. The meeting covered municipal projects and planned investments, with transport and infrastructure among the main topics.
Yavas said he briefed Erdogan on ongoing and planned work in the capital, particularly metro projects intended to strengthen Ankara's public transport network. The two sides also assessed the city's investment priorities for the coming period.
The mayor thanked Erdogan for supporting projects in Ankara and for backing the capital's hosting of a NATO summit. He said the municipality presented projects requiring coordination between the central government and local administration.
The presidency announced the meeting through an official media account. Republican People's Party leader Ozgur Ozel said Yavas held the talks with his knowledge and approval, while the meeting drew attention because the presidency and municipality are led by different political parties.
